What We Have Learned So Far

- Russel Shephard is for for real
- Shephard has rushed for 193 yards, passed for 676 yards and has 10 total touchdowns for the #1 LSU Tigers
- AP Voters are in love with USC
- USC is #1 in the AP Poll even though they were defeated handily by Alabama. LSU is clearly the top team in the country right now. Good thing the ap poll no longer counts in the BCS.
- Bama's defense may be the best in the country
- Bama's D has given up 31 points in 5 games. They gave up 14 to #3 Ohio St and #2 LSU. With players like Javier Arenas and Rolando Mcclain, they may have the best defense in the country.
- Ben Scott is the man in Austin
- Ben Scott leads the country in sacks and is a top heisman candidate. All this and the guy plays strong safety. Head coach Michael Von Gruben is known for his big time blitzes and Ben Scott is the perfect guy for Texas's defensive system.
- Florida was overhyped
- Florida was the preseason #1 by a landslide, but they have already lost 2 games in a very early season. The Gators need to get back to the basics, and Tebow needs to give more senior leadership.
- USC is the king of recruiting
- With 5 commits already USC looks to continue their talent stockpiling for years to come. Coach Varisco is known as one of the best recruiters in the country, and this class is showing it early.
-  The Conference USA Championship will most likely be a semi-final game
- With LSU and Ohio St looking like the best 2 teams in the country, the conference USA championship will probably determine who will play in the national championship. These 2 teams do meet in the regular season.
- No one will go undefeated
- Alabama, Florida, LSU, Texas, all have at least 1 loss. Ohio St, Penn St, and LSU all at least play one or both of each other. This could be another season like 2007 where a 2 loss team wins the national championship.
